Windsheild wiper problem

Okay so I've replaced my windsheild cowl before and I know how to remove the wiper arms but now my one wiper is loose and moves up the windsheild. The passenger arm moves itself out of alignment once i turn them on for like on cycle. The compression bolt things are nice and tight but the whole motor on the passenger side is loose and it wiggles around. But the motor works well and strongly. Its like the mount that holds the motor broke or something. My question is that does this problem sounds like a windsheild wiper linkage problem or a motor problem? Either way I know that either of these is pain in the ass to fix :banghead:

Also does anyone know what the cost of this would be to fix. Or if it's easy for me to fix? Getting off the wiper arms I found to be a big pain last time.

If you're positive your wiper blade is bolted down firmly with that ferrule thing in place, then linkage is a decent bet.

When tightening, hold the arm well so you're not putting stress on stuff beneath.

I think it's just a matter of removing cowl and cabin air filter housing. I haven't been there, but I thought it was very accessible. Have a look beneath if you don't have any luck tightening down blades. I'd start by removing them, cleaning them up and trying again.

Yeah I've tried removing the arm, and repositioning it. No luck. The whole bushing that rotates moves, like no rotates but oscillates unlike the driver side. Te whole socket it sits in moves aswell as the normal rotation i mean. I'm thinking I going to the dealer tomorrow and asking what parts I may need. Hopefully thy will be cooperative and help me out.

Does anybody out there have an exploded view of the windsheild arm assembly or any parts place that may stock them. I really want to avoid the stealership and their people.

If I do replace this then I'll post a DIY cause I'm one of the first I've heard of with this problem yet.

Nevermind found a link that solves my questions about removal of the parts. Still wondering if new linkage will solve my problems.

Here's the DIY for anybody with similar problems. ...

Does anybody know where I can buy the motor and linkage ? I can get it from the BMW parts store .com but they won't ship to canada now! Wtf. Everyone up here wants 650$ + for this part

Just order it from any place in the States and get FedEx or anyone else to pick it up and then pay the duty on it when it arrives. It's that easy.
