DIY: How to change transmission mounts
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_UfwWRU9ipk
If you like the video on YT it can make me a few pennies, I'd really appreciate it. I know I sound idiotic  To clear up some stuff: I'm 15, that's probably all you were wondering. |
Nice job, but removing the cross brace is unnecessary. The mounting points on the transmission are slotted, so you can just put a jack with a block of wood under the transmission, raise it up slightly, and the mounts slip right out.

Yep was gonna say that. nice job though at least you were thorough and at least you're paying attention to the important stuff rather than stancing your car or some other BS that dummies twice your age engage in. Keep the vids coming
|
Nice job. I'm going to bookmark it for future reference. Thanks.

Thank you, there's a reason why it's called the ultimate driving machine and not the ultimate rubbing machine. Stance takes away from the car. Looks much cleaner with some nice wheels and a good suspension like bilstein or h&r.
P.s. should I make more DIY videos? Sent from my A500 using Bimmer App |
No problem

I can not wait to install full polyurethanes engine and tranny mounts!

go for it. people might sit here all day and bash you or try to pick fights, or run their mouths about how PM is stupid, but at the end of the day they aren't contributing. make the difference.

Great video, love the attention to detail and the fact that it's straight to the point, No BS.
Keep em coming! |
Wrenching from a young age is a good thing. Keep it up and don't worry about the naysayers.

Serdar=youngest fanatic and dmax=oldest. Haha jk.. actually I think the guy with the silver convertible is like 80 or something. We have quite the range here.
|
Good job. Well edited.

+1... Well done, nicely made video..!

Any increased NVH with the Rogue mounts compared to the hourglass-shaped BMW ones?
I've got a somewhat big thump when going from 1st to 2nd (particularly if the accelerator is pushed down), and vibration going from any gear to 2nd from high-ish speed even if I keep the clutch pushed in. Right before it enters second the mid/rear (transmission area) vibrates. Is it my mounts? |
Where did you get you mounts?
