Outdoor grills

Do you guys know if they'll be on sale anywhere since the summer is ending?

I bought mine from Lowes, Char Broil Commercial with stainless top and enclosed bottom part for $300. Has 4 burners with a side burner, I would recommend it.

I can tell that the Weber ones are built better but I had a hard time justifying $700 for a grill...

Weber. Trust Me.

+1. I had 2 Charbroils prior to buying a Weber and I won't look back. The Charbroils required cleaning of the burners constantly in order to avoid hotspotting. Also, it was hard to get the Charbroil BBq's to go below 300 degrees. They looked nice but just don't work as well as the Weber I got.

I have no problem holding my Char Broil at ~200F, I can slow cook ribs on mine no problem and haven't experienced hot spotting at all. I think there are different grades of Char Broil, there are the shitty ones and the decent ones.

I am in no way comparing it with Weber, but for less than half the price...it's good enough for me.

Charcoal is the way to fly. Get a 22" webber gold with the ash catching system and stainless steel grill top, they also make one with a cart and one higher model with gas light if you don't want to dick around with a chimney. Unless you spend a ridiculous amount on a gas grill, nothing will come close to the flavor and heat you can get from charcoal.

Lowes has a sale on BBQs towards the end of summer, so does OSH.

I want propane with out the burners. I have no need for that. I just want a lot of grill space. Not looking to spend a lot really. Maybe $200 max

I bought a $100 Charbroil 8 years ago because I figured that when it died in 3 years I'd know exactly what I wanted in a grill. The piece of crap won't die. Has a few hot spots, but it still works fine. Someday I'll get a fancy grill, but until then I'll just keep on truckin with this thing.

@ $200 Weber is out. Go with a Char Broil.

Ok I'll look around. Lowes homedepot my best bets?

Green_Shine 08-29-2012 09:18 PM

Yup. Get a cover for that Jersey weather.

Check craigslist and clean it really well. Sounds kind of nasty but I got a really nicely built stainless steel grill and patio set for $200...

That's a good idea. An $8 bottle of Simple Green grill cleaner can go a long way.

I got this for $199 + free tank of propane at home depot on memorial day.

Still looks brand new, although I thoroughly clean it once every few weeks. Probably BBQ 4 times a week.

If you don't have any coupons, stop by the post office and get one of those movers booklets. They usually have a 10% off for either of the big box stores. I just did it this weekend for all my tile supplies for my kitchen.
