Best way to remove Shot it studs from concrete.

The previous owner shot in the studs into the concrete in the basement, what would be the best way to remove them? the 4" side is the side shot in, so worst case scenario I could just put new studs up the "correct" way, but it would make a pain running wires through with the old studs there.

Sledge hammer if you can knock the stud from side to side to loosen it up. Monster pry bar a little at a time.

But, you know you can just drill through the studs...make holes through the studs at least 1 1/4 inch back from surface of wall...in the center of stud. You can easily fit a couple of wires in a 5/8" hole...make hole bigger if needed and keep it up from the floor....12-18" or so...some level comfortable to drill at.

But what about the shot in nail? I shouldn't have any issues pulling the nail out right?

If I'm understanding you, you could lift up a stud with nails, right out of the concrete. They hold well, but concrete is pretty brittle, so a bit of force should pop them out...

A sledge from the side should help...think you'll find it goes a lot easier than you'd think.

Pry them up. Those nails are for lateral hold strength not verticle

Studs are loaded from above, the concern is them shifting horizontally.

It ain't gonna go up!
