What is the point of having the 2 sides adjust in opposite directions? It's cool as long as the motors can support all the downforce and not flap around.

To load different sides of the rear of the car while cornering. Essentially free weight transfer giving more lateral grip.

Well I wanted to see what our community thought, since one of their few offerings is actually for E46's at almost $9,000.

I dont think I know of any racers running the split active wing. I know of a couple using the static wing. Personally Id rather spend that $ on better suspension.

Hey guys,

A little shameless plug... I work for aeromotions.

We have the only commercially available wing that has been fully wind tunnel tested at high speeds. Our active wings are seriously awesome, and we have track data (from an E36) that proves the technology is worth ~ 2 seconds on a two minute lap.

However, there are a bunch of E46 folks running our manually adjustable wings with GREAT results. Our low drag airfoil works exceptionally well with the E46 shape (rear window). Check out our bimmer stuff here: http://aeromotions.com/products/by-make/bmw/_nr_

It's cool and probably works very well, but I don't think active adjustment is allowed in most racing bodies.

RRT uses Aeromotions wings on some of their cars, but to the best of my knowledge they only use the static wings. Regardless, high quality pieces right there.

I think active aerodynamics are great if you have the resources to afford them and properly implement them.

Yes, that's true that only modified and unlimited classes typically allow active aero, but our signature airfoil that has gone through relentless CFD, Wind Tunnel, and track testing is available in the R.Static (14 degree manually adjusted) configuration. The R.Static is pretty much allowed anywhere that allows wings and raised spoilers as far as we know. And the R.Static still makes the 860lbs of downforce at 200mph with very little drag.

Yep, RRT is great vendor of ours and runs a lot of R.Static's. However, VS Motorsports runs our fully active S1.Dynamic in NASA GTS-4 on their E92 M3
