replace factory ballast with aftermarket
Last winter I had issues with flickering and failure of my passenger side factory xenon. Did lot of search, research and troubleshooting. Checked the ground connections, swapped bulbs, swapped ballasts, swapped ignitors. I could not isolate the problem. I finally said screw it and plugged in a Morimoto 3Five ballast. All works fine and has for 6 months plus.
My solution for sealing the projector innards from the elements (due to the ballast wire to the bulb connection) is not elegant and a temporary solution at best. I'd like to incorporate the factory black dome/seal if possible. Swapping bulbs etc means removing a bunch of tape and plastic.
I'm looking for ideas to do this in a more permanent way. For those that have tackled this one, any thoughts are appreciated.

If figured out the fix. The ballasts that I have (morimoto 3five) with d2s output plug is too bulky and not practical to seal through a grommet. TRS sell ballasts with Amp fitting rather than D2S fitting. That combined with a adapter with D2S on one end and Amp on the other does the trick
I'll have a pair of D2S Morimoto 3Five ballasts for anyone interested.
I still have the same problem avec replacing air intake. I unpluged ground and I think that I damaged something by doing this because battery was unplugged and I played in the hood for 2 hours, arround the light, moving wire and etc.....
