Help!? headlight out showing in dash don't know why.
I have a 1999 323i and it has both lights on that is showing that my headlights are out. However both work perfectly fine and the high lights as well with no problem. I'm a bit confused as to why the lights on. Help?:/

The orange light. It's on whenever the headlights are one or whenever your turn signals are blinking. If the car's computer senses a voltage discrepancy in these bulbs it will show the same red light on the dashboard as the headlights.

1. Take out the bulbs in the orange lights.
2. Clean the contacts on the bulb.
3. Bend the contacts in the socket so they push harder against the bulb.

OP, yes...see if either your turn signal (you know what that is, right?)...or fog lights...are off. Check your low and high beam headlights both.

Some light isn't working.

It could, you know, just be the bulb has burned out...but City is right that the turn signal can fail just because the lower tab in the socket has been pushed down too far to hold bulb firmly. Pull it up a little from the bottom--disconnect it first though before playing around with it.

You don't happen to have led bulbs upfront do you? It could show that if you don't of resistors for LEDs
