Recommended trans fluid - 6 Speed
 

I'm making a pre winter to-do list, one of the things on my list is replacing the transmission fluid in the 6-speed. What do you guys recommend for fluid? Brand? Weight? How much will it take?

Just curious if there's something better than what BMW would recommend.

Redline d4/MTL 50/50 mix.

What's the reason for mixing them, if you don't mind me asking?

Regular MTL gets really thick in the cold. Mixing it with ATF helps that issue. Also, ATF has a lot of extra detergents and stuff to help keep the internals nice and clean.

I use RP synchromax in mine and it gets pretty thick in the cold, I plan on changing to the mixed method when I change the fluid next.
