how much do you tip pizza delivery guy?

order is $9, plus a 2 mandatory delivery fee that probably does not go to the driver.

How much do you tip? Pizza place is 1 mile away.

LowDog 10-03-2012 07:21 PM

always $2, makes everything much easier.

MDydinanM 10-03-2012 07:22 PM

yup. I emphasize with the delivery guys, I don't envy their job. They come from all walks of life ranging from an elderly man trying to make ends meet to a young teen saving money for school.

I used to deliver pizzas so I know how much it can suck so around $5, even on smaller bills.

You can make a lot of money delivering though.

This is an ironic post IMO

I don't get why delivery guys would get pissed getting tipped only $1-$2

That's $8 / hr to $10 / hr, minimum if you're doing... 1 pizza an hour.

wasp9166 10-03-2012 07:44 PM

the pizzas around me don't deserve to be delivered to the homeless

BIZ323 10-03-2012 07:44 PM

nothin. takes $1.35 total cost to make that pizza, owner is prolly a cheap ass, best just to tell the delivery guy to get a new job and leave it at that.

GlockMan 10-03-2012 07:46 PM

4 to 5.

Get the same 5 drivers all the time.

They treat us well.

Locutus09 10-03-2012 07:56 PM

If it's 1 mile down the road get in your damn car and drive there you lazy ass.

NOVAbimmer 10-03-2012 07:58 PM

tip starts at "Don't eat yellow snow". Better tips for better service.

GRIFFIN 10-03-2012 07:58 PM

I usually give the whole tip. Maybe another half inch or so

It is ironic, but I grew up at the Jersey shore so most of my deliveries were to people on vacation so I would get big tips, I worked one winter for a couple months while in High School and it sucked. I would think most areas are closer to my winter experiences, hence the tips aren't that great.

I did get paid $10 an hour though on top of tips and this was a while ago, 1997-98 so I was taking home so decent money.

interesting math. If a guy does 1 pizza an hour and only gets a $1 tip for each, that would mean $1/hr, not $8 (or $10).
