Need math help
 

Hey guys, I really just need help setting this word problem up into numbers and variables, any help would be great

well a square assumes 4 sides are the same. So you can start by length x height = 81 (the area). So since length and height are equal (b/c it's a square), you can say x squared=81, and solve for x. Then you can get a side.

I'm trying to figure out the rest.

It would be a 6*12 rectangle. That was stupidly easy.

Draw a square full of little squares. Make sure they're 9*9. Now draw a rectangle that's 6*12 squares. Ta-da.

and how many years until you get your driver's learning permit?

Ok ok but now give me an equation to show work, I mean I could have gotten the answer by playing the guessing game but I don't know how to turn these words into and equation

x^2=81
x=9
81-9=72
72=(x+y)*(x-y)=x^2-y^2
72=81-y^2
y^2=9
y=3

Those type of problems were in my 6th grade math class. I think college algebra is only offered at community colleges. Community colleges...another two years of high school.

It is a requirement for any degree now
