P0340 with EU2 software - not in limp mode though

Went to my emissions testing today and failed obviously, but the surprising part was that I had a P0340 showing. Why would that show up if I didn't have any issues.

Does the EU2 recognize the intake camshaft position sensor? Or is this just a fluke? If I popped it and there aren't any driveability issues, shouldn't it reset after a couple of cycles? I make sure to scan it for codes every now and then since there is no MIL at all. Thoughts comments and concerns welcomed.

Yes it recognizes it, probably just a fluke. Why did you fail?

No MIL with key on engine off.
