oil gargling/bubbling sound with dipstick removed

Quick question: If I remove the dipstick while the engine is running I hear a pretty loud gargling/bubbling sound. Is this normal?

Yup, definitely.

When you remove the dipstick you open up a direct channel into the oil pan. The noise you are hearing is the oil flowing through the engine.

Yes, and you shouldn't need to do this ever. Check oil levels 5 minutes after turning off the engine.

no your crank case vale needs to be replaced along with the 4 hoses and a modified dip stick tube or a new one

The sign of a bad CCV is usually a howling noise when the crank case looses it's containment (oil fill cap removed, etc)
