Angel eyes wiring question
Hey everyone! I just finished mounting the rings to the headlight and I would like to know which way would be the best to wire everything.

Would it be possible to just run the wires to the battery terminals in the engine bay and add a switch inside?

I need your help guys and I am sure there is someone over here that are more experienced than me.

Thank you! :)

What type did you buy? Umnitza Orions come with the wiring harness and tell you what wire to tap into. I wired mine so that they fade on and off with the interior lights. They are also on all the time as DRLs...

I bought some CCFL types, not sure about the brand though.

They came with clips and inverters and there is a sheet with "instructions", which isn't really helpful since it does not tell you what to do so I had to figure out myself how to disassemble the headlights and install everything.

How did you wire them to the interior lights?

You want to find the switched 12V wire in the fusebox under the hood... Driver's side. The Umnitza brand also came with a "trigger wire" that you run into the passenger side footwell and attach to the interior footwell dome light. I assume that you could do the same.

I bought the LED type though... They are bright as sh1t!

If you search here and on YouTube you will see installation videos... They are very helpful. They will also show you the correct switched wire to tap into.

Hope this helps.

Yes you are pointing me in the right direction. I'll try that when I get home and if I have anymore questions I'll come back. Thank you!

Alright, I wired everything and I must say that it looks beautiful!

I tried the solution I mentioned in my original post and it works pretty well. I only have to find a place to mount the switch inside the car... as of now, it is sitting on top of the dashboard for testing purposes.

Looks good , I have led orion v2 angel eyes. The only problem your gonna run into with ccfl's is them starting in the cold

Hi sorry to threadjack, but this was the most recent AE install thread, and it seems you figured it out so...

I have had my AE installed for 3-4 years now with no major issues. The other day it rained kind of hard and they went out for some unknown reason. They are working now, but the remote on feature doesnt work. They only turn on with the key in the ignition. I checked the wire tapped into my footwell and it still has power going to it. The fuse is also still intact on the wiring harness. Any ideas?

edit: To the OP, you should mount the switch in the area under your stereo. Do you not have a strip of buttons and such with empty space?

You can wire it into the DME for DRL purposes, or to corners for same thing. Or fogs for on/off without needing a tacky switch.
