Star Wars 2015

https://thewaltdisneycompany.com/blog

Disney just bought out Lucasfilms and Skywalker sound and announced a new Star Wars film in 2015...

I'd like to know what they paid; it had to have been in the billions.

edit: Yeah, $4.05 billion.

Well, there goes that movie franchise.

VaderDave 10-30-2012 04:01 PM

100 percent owned by George Lucas. Wow.

Did Spielberg do it to settle his estate, he must be 65 or 70 years old now ?

Can you imagine Snow White assuming the role of Princess Leia ?
Or Mickey Mouse portraying Luke Skywalker ?
Or Goofy portraying Chewbacca ?

Not sure If srs. Given Disney's recent agenda, it will probably be starring Luke Skywalker's transexual lesbian son who fights racial cis oppression

Even when they made the 2nd trilogy, you knew it wasn't going to compare to the originals. Nothing will, of course. But, why not watch whatever they come up with? Whatever they make isn't supposed to be as good as the first 3 films. And, making new films doesn't make the old ones bad.

It's weird that ppl get so butt hurt about new Star Wars movies, as if they're rewriting the Bible or something. Simma down. If you're that offended, don't watch.

must be nice when ya got money to burn on a has been

I dunno: if there's anyone that knows how to protect a franchise/intellectual property, it's Disney. I will be interested to see how they exploit the Star Wars universe for fun and profit.

I guess I'm the only one who's more excited than a toddler in a titty bar with this news.

Let me ask you guys? Did you like what movies marvel pumped out recently? They're owned by Disney. Give them a chance, odds are these movies will be better than episodes 1-3

CollinsE90 10-30-2012 04:21 PM

They'll build a Star Wars city and make back their investment in 5 years. My goal in life is to continue to be the guy that has never seen any of them.

nardog 10-30-2012 04:21 PM

anyone else think they'll do a remake of the original?
