oil cap is gunky.car does not overheat or loose water its done 196k been sitting for a while and is needing a service do u think this is a gasket problem or just needing ran and a service

Do you do short trips each day or long motor way, if short trips (like me) you will get a small build up of gunk in the oil cap, give it a long run every now and then, its to do with the heating and recooling of the engine and as it sucks in cool air when the engine is turned off and moisture, a short journey will not burn off excess moisture and so eventually you get the white gunk build up.
