buying gas from craigslist
 

So i have 0 on my range meter because every gas station is sold out or not operating. Here in NY gas is very hard to come by and places that have gas run out quick, with lines that are 4hours or more. I waited 8 hours only to end up with no gas. I am desperate to buy some gas on craigslist for $14 per gallon (rip off I know) but the price is not my concern. Can i trust whats in there. I proposed buying 5 gallons of gas and the seller of gas to put one gallon in his tank. He agreed to that. I need a little gas to get over to NJ (pay tolls $20) to buy some gas over there.
Would you do it? bad idea?

Desperate times call for desperate measures......

where do you live by? i have a lot of friends in queens im sure i can point you toward a station with out a line

well I learned from this for sure. Didn't expect this to last this long. Figured there be gas by now. Good news is there is gas but just not in NY.
I will go for it.

You can think of it this way: That's only a little more than what gas costs in Europe.

thx im in Bayside queens. Unfortunately with my zero range meter I can run out at anytime. So pissed about waiting 8 hours for gas in the freezing cold for nothing....

I've bought craigslist gas... it was good and it goes quickly, so you don't have to worry about it spending the night

We've got around 1,200 lbs of protein on the hoof, 2,000 lbs of kiln dried firewood, 10 gallons of beer + ingredients for 20 more gallons of beer, cider and mead. Not exactly a balanced diet, but we'd have a heck of a bbq.

There are guys that would deliver for $10 per gallon. My bro in law is "ordering" 10 gallons tomorrow.

If I were you I would just get 5 gallons or so and then drive to Elizabeth NJ. I went last night and only waited 15 min
