New brake setup for the zhp inside
Order from TMS, got everything the next day :D Great customer service over there, thanks Chris.

TMS crossdrilled rotors, Axxis ultimate brake pads, stoptech stainless steel lines, ATE super blue fluid, new sensors and hardware. Installing everything tomorrow and I'll post up a reveiw thread later. I can't wait ...... :excited:

Here's my first impression. They stop the ****ing car. Hard. I mean, i had OEM worn down pads and rotors, but the difference is in the brake pedal. I keep my foot planted and the pedal stays where it is, like a rock. Did quite a few heat cycles to bed them properly. Bled the system twice, good to go. The initial cold bite isn't great, but once they're warm it's perfect. Very happy with this setup so far. I'll really get a chance to brake hard and lay into some corners next weekend and i'll do a follow up review.

Please do. I'm looking forward reading your update. I'm in the market for new break set up.

Hey there, and thanks for the writeup as well. I actually just ordered the same exact setup and am slowly in the process of getting things installed. I'm pretty sure my car (also a ZHP sedan) is on the original brakes too, and they're hammered. Really glad to hear you're happy with the set.

I see too from your pic that you also received 2 rear left rotors. I called TMS about this and they said that's how all of them are... So basically the venting and the cross drill holes on the rotor are 'backwards' on the right rear rotor...

Can you confirm? I'm a little annoyed that TMS doesn't have the correct right rear rotor...

Wow good catch on the rear. I would have never noticed. Nice brake setup though.

Yeah TMS said its just how they are and that it doesn't matter, which is fine with me, but still, kind of irritating. I'm a perfectionist and that 1 rotor will bug me.

Jesse M 11-18-2012 12:55 PM

Yep, I called them about it too. It's because of how the vanes are supposedly, they are only able to drill them one way because of the design. I don't mind. But I did notice as soon as I opened the box.

Pics and second review to come soon! Going on a cruise in a little bit with a few buddies to hit some backroads. :D

Yeah see I did some more investigating and that's all bullshit. First off, the vanes need to go the opposite way for correct cooling. Also, I talked to a friend that has the same setup that he bought from TMS. he checked the rotors and sure enough he has one left and one right for the rears.

Sooo, something isn't right. They make the correct right rear, I just have to get my hands on it.

4 month follow up. Had them on about 8k miles. Pads don't even look worn. No lip on rotor. No leaks. abs working perfectly.. :eeps:

Super hard pedal and still 100% satisfied. Rear rotors are fine being in the same direction, haven't noticed anything odd. I don't race, so, it doesn't matter. But when i want to stop, these will STOP the car very well. Perfect setup for spirited driving/fun days. Might endure some autoX this season. We'll see.

+1 TMS.
