xenon + Halogen Main beam

My 2004 325Xi has bi-xenon headlights, that is, the outer xenon lights are used for low beam and high beam. The inner halogen lights are used for "flash" and daylight running only. I propose to install changeover relays to enable xenon + halogen - (all four lights) for high beam.
anyone else tried this ?

this can be coded with ncs expert but it depends on your LCM module..

Gasman208 11-09-2012 03:56 PM

Interesting, Re-coding sounds better than re-wiring.
Is this ncs expert a BMW service department tool ?

haurelio 11-09-2012 06:32 PM

not sure they have ncs expert; but they'll have similar software..

I might still go with using relays instead of re-coding, it's a physical and easily reversible modification,
and could be switched so I could have 2 or 4 light high beams.
just need to find a wire that's hot only when high beam (bi-xenon) is on.

I believe you can do this with PASoft.

Not with pasoft

If you really want to do it with wiring, just use the bixenon shutter's wire as the trigger. I do think coding is a better way to go about it. Get a $10 cable, download some software, and flip the bit.

you make it sound so easy
though I have to say that I have a 64bit system which complicated things...and now I'm on windows 8 so I don't even have the virtual pc anymore haha. Need to find some time and reinstall everything..

Does anyone know which wire is the low/high beam shutter, the big connection in the middle is the halogen.
