Guy scammed me/found out a way to meet him.

So I tried buying a fairly expensive guitar offline from what seemed like a reputable seller with pictures and previous posts only to be left without a response once the money was sent and I doubt Paypal is going to find it and refund it to me. Did some deep Googling on his e-mail and found on a forum that he was asking for oxy/downers and would meet somebody for them (stand up guy I know.) You all seem to be experts in the law/courses of action in these situations.

So OT... wat do?

Doesnt paypal cover this sort of thing? I thought that was the whole reason we used PayPal lol. If you do something like that (sting operation lol) you should probably get the police? Idk.

Phone pay pal right away, They always side with the buyer and will get you your money back, They are the middle man to protect you

sgplayer69 11-11-2012 03:18 AM

call paypal but still run a sting operation

XKxRome0ox 11-11-2012 03:22 AM

OP probably did not send paypal as a payment for goods ... and does not receive their purchase protection

How much?

HiHoBrian 11-11-2012 08:35 AM

So you want to confront a drug addict and demand cash money be returned that you sent electronicaly? Doesn't sound like it could ever come to a positive conclusion no matter how it went down.
Guitar guy probably allready sniffed a pile of oxys bought with your money while his hipster girlfriend and bros were laughing in his mothers basement about how good his scam works.

sent from my ATARI sc1224

Ataraxia3 11-11-2012 09:38 AM

I did send the payment for goods. I didn't know Paypal could still refund it I assumed that he had transferred it out of his account the day I sent it. I already filed my claim just like I said thought they wouldn't be able to find the money. Crisis averted.

If PayPal doesn't follow through, learn your lesson and move on.

Paypal is a crock. They aren't a good guy.

They will probably get your money back.

Do a charge back on your credit card. And meet him, beat the **** out of him then rob him. After you rob him, kick him in the balls and say karma is a biitch and walk away.

I think you should meet him. Bring lots of guns. Maybe you should get drunk first too.

Reminds of the thread where F2B was going to meet a guy in a parking garage that owed him money.

What kind of guitar did you "purchase?"

yetiinimolazhp 11-12-2012 02:44 PM

In before both the OP and drug addict scumbag wind up in a jail cell, shuffling around with no shoe laces and eating bad bologna sandwiches.
