2002 330 xi
Hey folks... we're into our first real snow event up here on the Canadian Prairies and I'm looking at 2 different BMW xi's and I need your opinions.

The first is a 2002 330 xi with 86 k miles and the following description:
"Power everything, Leather, Traction Control, Stability Control, CD player, and more.
Plenty of get-up-and-go. Very well maintained, handles well, new tires (Bridgestone Potenzas)"

The second is also a 2002 330 xi with 80 k miles and the following description:
"New tires (less that 1000kms on them)
New idler pulley and tensioner
New rear pads and discs
Newer battery
New air filter and oil change
Recharged ice cold A/C
Vehicle comes equipped with the Premium package, Sport package, cold weather package and nav package.

The premium package includes upgraded rims, multi-function steering wheel, rain sensing wipers, auto dimming mirror, lumbar support seats, moon roof and auto headlights.

The sport package includes sport seats with thigh support, 17 rims and the leather three spoke steering wheel.

The cold weather package includes heated seats and fold down rear seats.

The nav package comes with the widescreen navigation screen, 12 speaker Harman/kardon premium sound system and the bi-xenon headlights."

Is there anything to be aware of on these models that should be checked prior to an offer? I would prefer the second vehicle with the sport package as my 2000 323 ci also has the same details.

Thoughts and comments much appreciated.

Check all 4 axles for tears in the boots. XI's eat axles like nothing. I had to replace one of my rear ones as it was completely shoot, rebuild the other rear one and also replace the front right one after about 3months of ownership.

Ask for previous service records and see what has been done. Check rear trailing arm bushings also notorious for going on the BMW.
Check for any oil leakage
