Hello From Virginia!
2 Attachment(s)
I joined the forum almost four years ago when I was stationed in Italy. I worked on a lot of BMWs in my hobby business and find a lot of good information on the different forums...and good deals in the classified sections!:woot:

I have an '01 ZCoupe (40K mile garage queen), a '91 318is (used for teaching myself body work) and another '91 318is that I'm throwing an M50/ZF into. I've slowly accumulated M54B30 rotating parts to build an S50 clone, but not sure if I'm going to use my M50 for that or start another project engine.:hmm: I've also got an actual S50 short block and the original M42 out of my "good" 318is that I pulled to refresh.

Now that I see all that in writing I can understand why my wife says I have too many projects going on at once.

So anyway, I'm down here near Waynesboro if anyone needs help or conversely, can help me if I need it.

I'm not too far down the road from you on I-64 into W.Va.

Not too far at all. I enjoy driving or riding many of the roads on your side of the mountains.

Thanks for the welcome:thumbup:

Welcome and hello from sunny Florida !!

I'm in Florida now, but originally from Amherst, Va. That was after traveling in the military for 24 years. My grandmother lives in Waynesboro, Va! Small world or forum. Will be in Waynesboro, sat morning for the week of thanksgiving.

I'm originally from northern Michigan and I went to boot camp in Orlando. I got orders to Key West after "A" school and then Cecil Field, Jacksonville. My grandparents lived in Zephyrhills and after Jax I went to Pensacola. A tour in Sicily and then orders to Norfolk where I homesteaded for 14 years and then transferred to Rota, Spain, and retired out of there. I then followed my wife to Keflavik, Iceland and Naples, Italy, and three years ago we moved here to settle down and enjoy life in the Shenandoah Valley.

So let's see if there is another "six degrees of separation" story here!

I live in Avon Park now. I was a senior instructor at Fort Eustis for 3 years.

The valley is so beautiful right now can't wait for the boy to get out of school on Friday and hit the road. The parkway there is like the ultimate place for the Beamer to get a good workout. Should be at Winter green skiing. They just got about 4 or 5 inches of snow a few days ago!

keflaman 11-14-2012 07:44 AM

Well, the snow is already gone according to the mountain cam (http://weather.weatherbug.com/weathe...E&camera=WNTRE), but it's in the low-twenties this morning so I'm sure they are busy making snow.

There are certainly lots of fun, winding roads to take a spirited drive on, but some people aren't too bright...

I guess they never heard the old saying, "You can't outrun the mobile phone."
