So I found this yesterday (C/F destruction inside)
found a new surprise today when i went to check my oil level
Theres also more I need to do since my coilover strut mounts are loose and making noise as well.(just found that out a couple days before this)
They cant be replaced/revalved by hks since they have been discontinued for more than 3 years.
New coilovers will be bought next year.
I'm thinking this possibly happened because of my strut mounts having to much flex since they are failing
Am I a complete dumbass for thinking that it could be a possible cause :hmm:?
I'll admit I'm a little baffled and pissed that this happened.
when did you buy it? might be covered under warranty if under a year. it was only being used for it's intended purpose and i'm pretty sure bmw parts all have a 1 year warranty at minimum.
really sucks :( sorry man
I have read on M3Forum that owners of this BMW CF strut tower brace have experienced the same failure. On my M3, the cast aluminum bracket atop the driver's side strut tower cracked where it mates up with the oval crossbar at the end of the bolted connection. So don't feel bad because you're not the only one who has experienced strut bar issues.
If I was in the market to buy replacement, I'd get a Mason Industries strut bar, or the one that Carbing makes, which is very shiny and purdy I might add, but it appears to be a 90% copy of the original Motorsport brace that came on my car so....meh. By default, the Mason bar wins my vote. There is another exception though, Dixis Spirit made a cool titanium strut brace that I would love to get my mits on.
Ah good so i am not the only one
The mason engineering bar is going to be my follow up bar
Thanks for the heads up lucky doggg7
I think it has been longer than a year that i have had this by the way
