Z1 Star Spec vs Toyo T1 Sport?

Anybody know how these tires compare?

How can you even compare those two tires? They are completely different.

Star spec is a max performance tire with a large contact patch and extremely stiff sidewall. It is amazing in terms of grip and response, as well as wet performance, but it will definitely be rougher and wear faster than the T1S. It is loud, at a level that I would not accept from the T1S. The Z1SS + the Hankook RS3 are people run if they do competitive autocross or track days on street tires.

The T1S just seems to be your average "high performance" summer tire.

Michelin Pilot Super Sports PSS are the king of performance tires right now. It is the #1 ranked Max Performance Tire on the Tire Rack and it is the Car and Driver's winner for the Monsters of Grip tire test!

Anyone know how much life you can expect from a set of Michelin PSS? Say a 245/40/17 or 18?

They have a 30,000 mile warranty. If you buy staggered for our cars and don't rotate it's 15k.

I have put 8,000 miles on mine. The fronts have 8/32nds left and the rears have 6.5-7/32nds. So they are good for the claims in my experience. And no I do not drive gently.

So you're on pace for 30,000 miles with some pretty hard driving?

BTW what size tires do you have?

I am looking at 225/45/17 and 245/40/17. If you run 18s on your ZHP, are you using a 35 profile ratio?

255/35/18 rear and 225/40/18 front. I think I will get just shy of 15k out of my rears.

To put that in perspective I got 9k out of my rear Star Spec Z1s in the same size.
