KW V2 set to the lowest. Disadvantages?
Hi, just fitted in my E46 320cd zhp some kw v2 coilovers. To get the stance i wanted i had to set the front ones to the max possible.

I have 19 inch wheel with 235/35/19 on front and 265/30/19 on the rear. From the grounf to the wheel arch it now measures 62,5cm in the front and 63cm in the rear.

The car is still confortable but are there many disadvantages by having the coils set like that?

watch for potholes, e46 strut towers are not reinforced and can crack from being too low. ive seen it

You will run out of bump travel with them set that low which will cause the car to ride rough over large bumps.

I'm afraid that that low will ruin the coils.

Are the struts seated all the way in the hub. There is a nub on the bottom of the strut that needs to go into the slot on the hub. If not it may cause the strut to sit higher because the nub is resting on top of the perch/hub. I found out the hard way.

(This was on KW V1, but I assume same for V2)

Won't ruin the coils, you might blow the struts though. Rear shocks seem to be more resilient.

Front and rear reinforcement plates should be a no-brainer by now.

Max recommend setting should not be a problem since the coilover was designed for that max lowering height. Now if you have it pass the recommending max lowering height then you run the chance of voiding your warranty. You can cause damage to your bumpstop, dust cover boot and internal valves.
