Do any of you recommend this lens?
Its the 75-300mm lens |
From what I have read the 75-300 is a really bad lens... What you want is the 70-300 IS USM
|
Stay away, read reviews and you will see.
I would actually recommend the 55-250IS in that price range, or better yet a used 70-200L F4. |
LOOK!
Your second picture is for the 70-300 USM IS lens You are asking about 75-300 lens. They are completely different! The 70-300 USM IS lens is the best non L tele lens Canon sells. It retails for $650 and is sold around $500 new and $350-$400 used. I own it and its a great lens. 80-90% as good as the 70-200mm L, plus you get 100mm longer and stablilizer for less money than the 70-200L non-IS at $700+. The 75-300 is a piece of garbage. It sells for $199 ish. If you can not do the the 70-300 USM IS version, Do the Canon 55-250mm around the same price of the 75-300. Its a great value lens. |
stay far far away from it. I had one and hated it. If your looking for that focal length and have a crop sensor then I say try the 55-250 with I.S. It was one of my favorite lens when I had an APS sensor camera. If you have full frame then look into the 70-200L F/4

The 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS is about the same price, you guys think it'll be better ?

So I went ahead and order this lens off of best buy for around $350, it's the 50mm f1.4 usm lens. I think it's a great lens and a must have. What do you guys think?
|
good lens but the 50mm f1.8 is only $100, could have used the difference to upgrade your tele.
|
Very true. I had some gift cards I got for my bday so I really didn't spend more than $50 from my own money

50mm on a crop is not always easy to use because you cant always get back far enough. |

Both lenses are absolutely fantastic though. FWIW, I use my 50mm on my crop body all the time. It all depends on what you shoot and how you're comfortable shooting. I find more times when I'd rather be far away than when I'd rather be closer. So much so that my Canon 10-22 was my least favorite lens. |
Yes they're both really good

Here's another one! I really like the lens and image quality
|
Don't even think about buying the 75-300. It came with the kit when I bought my first camera and it's been used maybe once.

I'm glad I didn't buy it long time ago. They were out of them that's why I didn't. I'm getting the 55-250mm IS next |
