Air not working

Hey guys, did a search and couldn't find much, what I did find kinda didn't relate to my issue.

Im experiencing a issue with my heater/air conditioning.
When turned on, on heat or cool, it basically does nothing, it blows extremely slow, even when turned all the way up.
Turning the air conditioning on, I can hear the compressor kick in but still nothing.

A few weeks ago I had worx look at it, and he found a error with one of the temp sensors, the one that sits ontop of the radiator fan.
He cleared the code and it ran fine for a week or so. The issue has come back even after I replaced that sensor and it shows no error code.

Anyone experienced this? or know where I should start looking at?

Sounds like a dud final stage resistor. A bit of a pain to remove and install but the probably the first thing to try. They sell them on clickable

Yeap it's your FSR, happened to me in my 330Ci as well. Pain in the ass to replace but I guarantee that's your issue.

Goodluck. The hidden screw is a pain in the ass!

Good luck! The screw as mentioned, killer. I used a light and a camera to take a picture so I could see what I was feeling around in. I didn't put that screw back. Working fine, 2months.

If you have an iPhone you can put it in video mode, turn the light on (flash) and you can use the camera and screen to locate it. It's a complete bitch to get to. I didn't replace it which was fortunate as my second fsr died too.

God getting underneath the glove box yesterday killed me, I layed down on my seat on my back to get my huge head under there, not sure how well it work with the steering wheel there now.

The allen key sizes supercheap / repco had were A) Too short (couldn't reach that damn screw) B) Too long, fowled on the bit of steel 4 inches in front of it or C) Too thick, and couldn't fit down the narrow guide into the screwhead.

Ended up cutting the shaft off a long narrow one, then glueing it into the penlid off a white-out pen to get a tool that worked... that job sucked hard.

Yep the driver length is a pain in the ass!!

dan_1337 11-25-2012 07:51 PM

Did mine a week ago. Used a T-20 torx attached to couple of small extensions with a bendy elbow attached to another extension, attached to a small ratchet.

Didn't put the screw back in when putting it back together to make it easier for future FSR replacements.

you can probs do it with a SAMSUNGPHONE too!

There's a UK dude who wrote up a DIY for RHDs. He took out the driver's seat and lay down comfortably to do the replacement.... said he was too tall and too old to contort himself under the steering and dash with the seat in!

I'll find the DIY for you and post it...
