Looking for a lawyer in the ny long island area

Saturday night i was on my way to stony brook for a party, i was on the northern state further out east. The road was straight well lit and no one was around me. Then i gradually increase my speed at about 130 i see a state trooper in the distance so i get on my brakes. As im passing the cop I pulled over i was on the grass before his lights were on. He gave me a ticket for 111 in a 55 , I've never had any speeding tickets in the past but i know anything 40 above the limit is 11 points (automatic suspension). In retrospect i should've just kept going and never stopped. I am pretty convinced i will need a lawyer, anyone know any?

damn 130 your going to need some money and a lawyer 130

kawalaser 12-04-2012 09:50 AM

read the OP -- he got clocked at 111, not 130. Get a lawyer. In retrospect, you shouldn't be going 130 anywhere but a track.

good luck.

Surprised they did not arrest you. Thats reckless driving and they usually tow you right then.

I fought a ticket, it was 93 in a 55. It cost me about 1500 i think. Unfortunately I cannot find that lawyers info. Sorry man.

good luck bro, hope everything works out.

Good luck OP. 130 is nowhere near safe. Being clocked at 111 still gets you into a lot of trouble. You should've talked your way out of it to reduce the points.

I was clocked at 120 once on the highway by aircraft radar in CO springs(yes I25 in CO springs they do it with aircraft). I was running late for a wedding so I was speeding. Got pulled over afrer 4 miles and the cop(lady) gave me a ticket for 85 in 65 zone. I explained to her why I was speeding. And she could see me and my girl all dressed up for the wedding. Showed her the invitation card and time mentioned. She was nice and said "i will let you go with a ticket. it's just for 2 points if you pay it, but don't do it again. You might find someone else." Exact words out of her mouth.

This is my first speeding ticket but now i am hearing that in suffolk tvb they do not do plea bargains.

they dont, I told you that, thats why I gave you the number to that lawyer.

I got clocked at 144 on meadowbrook. But the officer put 110 which is double and subject to automatic suspension. However I ended up paying 700 for 3 tickets. Get a lawyer at your own risk.

Lol... Good luck OP.

Hope you've learned a lesson about doing triple digits on the highway.

Maybe invest in a v1?

Not trying to bash on you OP, but V1 is not going to do any good if he is going to be doing 111 in 55. It will only be more risky as he is going to hit brakes hard as soon as the detector goes off.

OP get a lawyer. They are good in making stuff up, so hopefully he/she will get you out of this hole.

zhenkaaaM3 12-05-2012 02:23 PM

The car can slow down from 111 to 55 pretty quickly. I dont think it would be THAT dangerous since I dont believe anyone is behind him going the same speed. Unless the cop used laser then the radar detector wont save you.

Depends what equipment they were using. Usually staties here use either laser (which you are fk'd unless you have jammers, which I have) or they use constant on KA band which you can pick up like no tomorrow.

Jake Cheers for your laser jammers.
I always wondered how would V1 react to the radar from the aircraft.
I should borrow someones V1 and try to see how it picks up the signal from the aircraft radar.

I was not saying V1 is useless. What I meant is, going 130, even 111 on a 55 mph road is downright dangerous. Whether he slams on brakes or not, the road is rated at 55. Upto 75~85 I can understand but at triple digit speeds, braking hard can be really scary and if someone is following you. Both are ****ed.

TMK aircraft do not use radar, they judge speed by distance traveled
