"THUMP" noise in trunk area when backuping up in my driveway?

Hi guys,

I noticed that when I'm backing up in my driveway (which is a hill) I hear a thump noise in the back area of the car? Almost sounds like some sort of shift or something? It only happends once right after I accelerate. Any ideas what this could be?

Hey that was my guess... the Hooker part. Op lets not jump to conclusions. You need to check your rear shock mounts first. The diff bushings on the M3 are quite robust, mostly aluminum and just a little rubber. How many miles are on your car?

I've heard about the subframe issues but I don't think I've had mine properly looked at. My car currently had 97k.

I'm going to my mechanic tomorrow for new brakes, I'm going to ask him about the thump noise.
