Exhaust Manifolds
 

Hi,

I have 2001 330xi with a 5 speed manual transmission. I need to remove the exhaust manifolds. I read and followed this DYI thread:

I followed the instructions in the thread, however, I still can't get the front manifold out of the engine bay.

Is there anything missing from the DYI thread that would need to done to facilitate removal of the manifolds from an awd vehicle? I have the manifolds loose, the engine raised, and the motor mount removed as described. The only other item in the way is the air conditioning compressor; however, my research did not indicate that required removal.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!_a_

I removed the manifolds, thanks.

Did you do anything extra? Or just follow the thread?

After speaking with another forum member, I carefully bent the compressor line to gain the needed clearance to remove the manifold.
