Sarah Palin Broke Up With Fox News

By Elspeth Reeve | The Atlantic Wire – 4 hrs ago

Sarah Palin and Fox News have split, and according to Palin allies, she was the dumper, not the dumpee. "It's my understanding that Gov. Palin was offered a contract by FOX, and she decided not to renew the arrangement," a "source close to Palin" told Real Clear Politics' Scott Conroy. (Fox confirms they've "parted ways" to The New York Times' Brian Stelter.) But given the increasingly public spats between Palin and the network, you have to wonder if that's some post-breakup spin.

The three-year relationship had been rocky for at least a year and a half. Palin fought with fellow Fox contributor Karl Rove (whose contract has been renewed) when she was waffling over whether to run for president in late summer 2011. "I hired Sarah Palin because she was hot and got ratings," Fox chief Roger Ailes said that October. When Palin decided not to run, she gave the exclusive to radio host Mark Levin, not Fox. And during the Republican National Convention, she protested on Facebook that Fox had cancelled all her interviews. Fox was then negotiating her contract then, and had been disappointed with her ratings, New York's Gabriel Sherman reported. "According to sources, the relationship at times has gotten so bad that much communication has been conducted via Palin’s husband Todd," Sherman wrote.

I always loved watching her on TV, as long as I turned the sound off.

:lmao:

They have no more use for her.

Two douches part ways.. Doesn't affect my life, idgaf.

Now, if someone said Fox was shutting down, I'd be happy for the future of humanity..

You know what astounds me... the level of animosity towards conservatives from some of the liberals on here. If you look at most anti-Obama threads, they have substance and are relatively free of emotion. Then you come in here and it's "wow the f*ckers at Fox news let go of this b*tch Palin".

Seriously guys, you've been drinking FAR too much kool-aid if you can't even provide a summary of the story without going into a tirade about half the nation

Irony: A delicious breakfast.

Of course we know the Right loves the left with the record number of Filibusters and the MAIN objective being making sure Obama is a one term president (which failed miserably by the way).

Palin was a tool for fox and when the tool became dull they had no more use for her. Networks do it all the time.

Lair 01-26-2013 09:54 AM

She was dull when she got there.

It's staggering to think that anyone ever thought she was a viable candidate - for any office.

You dont think a former VP canddiate and voice of the republican party getting canned by Fox is interesting?

I just relayed the story because it was funny. Don't shoot the messenger. ;)

bimmerfan08 01-26-2013 11:42 AM

Lately the liberals on here have been acting like prepubescent girls, now can we talk about the issues that matter?

Act of God 01-26-2013 11:43 AM

Got canned? Your article says she was offered a contract and declined. Heck, I didn't even know she was still even on the channel.

Lair 01-26-2013 11:53 AM

You'd believe the BS story that it was her decision?

If it is true, it's because Fox offered her $2 to stay and she declined.
