Boot lid electrics
I have a 320D SE saloon with electrical problems.

The boot lid has four bulbs, two reversing lights and two side lights.

I have put the ignition to stage 2 (engine off) with the gear stick in reverse with the lights switched on.

Only one bulb lights up fully (the off side reversing light), the other three are very dim.

When I put a meter on each connection it reads 3v (o/s reversing light) and 1v from the other three connections.

If it helps, the parking sensors are not working now either - are these connected??

Assuming you've switched bulbs and cleaned contacts, next step is the wires in the 'elephant boot.' See my thread of that title for further details. Bet it's a bad wire or 2...or 4!

Thanks Dmax, when it stops raining I will have a look at the wiring loom.

Read my thread...in all likelihood, looking won't tell you anything. You need to grab the wires inside the loom and try to yank them apart. The one's giving you an issue will break. The wires break inside the insulation and you can't otherwise see them broken.

Yank them apart...read my thread to get an idea of what you're doing.
