She Squats Bro

Hey I thought about making this thread because a girl friend of mine (friend that is a girl) was wondering how to workout her butt to make it nicer.

So as well as giving good info on what workouts to do to shape the butt, we could post some motivational pictures of "She Squats Bro" type of girls.

If this is a bad idea then we can have a mod delete it or whatever :)

So to get it started what else should she do besides squats?

Squats.... the difference between having a butt and and an a55!

dabears 02-15-2013 11:45 AM

im trying to get my girl to lift heavy weights and squat/deadlift. She's of the typical mindset she'll turn into the female version of hulk hogan. She currently plays basketball and does zumba dance twice a week... at least she listens to me about diet

So what else should she do besides squats? Isn't deadlifts mostly back?

Lunges, lunges, lunges.

domcreates 02-15-2013 12:09 PM

She says that squats hurt her knees. Ok so lunges, i'll tell her that :)

dabears 02-15-2013 12:10 PM

has she had a knee injury in the past? sounds like excuses to me

Teach her how to squat correctly. Her knees will thank you down the road.

I'll ask about injuries, and then i'll see if she's doing it correctly.

I'm thinking about having her do this workout

http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/boot...t-workout.html

So twice a week. One day would be workout A and the other day would be workout B.

Sound good?

god this annoys me so much. I've done 1000 reps of squats in the past 5 weeks and have 0 need issues. If you told this girl how she thinks her knees would feel after 1000 squats she's probably say "terrible".

idk man we can't just assume that it's an excuse. She does have something with her legs. They are shaped a bit oddly and I haven't seen her squat so I should just make sure she's doing it correctly first

dabears 02-15-2013 12:29 PM

maybe shes been spending a bit too much time on them already

haha c'mon don't say that she's nice. What do you think of that workout and two days a week?

z00 02-15-2013 12:52 PM

Surprised no one mentioned leg-ups.

My opinion is she should just do heavy (for her) squats and lunges in the 5-8 rep range for 4 sets (8 total) with proper form, and eating low fat high carb / protein 3 days a week like you, and focuses on eating low carb / high fat & high protein to lose the fat at the same time, maybe doing some cardio on these days as well. The diet would give her a better looking a$$ than the squats, this will "tone and tighten" (hate saying that) better than any exercise.

If that is too complicated, have her focus on cutting carbs out and eating less. Kind of hard for me to comment specifically on diet when I don't know her current stats / etc.

Girls are tricky, if you complicate things they'll quit altogether. That workout seemed like the typical bodybuilding.com overkill.

See if others agree

I've heard a lot of women benefit more with higher rep stuff where guys may be lower. Not sure if it really matters though.

Pretty sure thats bs... I'll admit I haven't looked much into womens training but berkhan is a source I trust completely and he had this to say:

http://www.leangains.com/2012/10/tra...e-goddess.html

Cliffs:

Eat like a man, train like a man, and look like a goddess. Would be a fairly accurate and true quote, if it wasn't for the fact that most men train like retards.
