Need HELP please... Installed new battery and now car won't start.

Could it be I bought the wrong battery? It sounds like it starts for a second and then dies. Bought the Everstart Maxx at walmart.

Be sure you connected the battery correctly and have the right battery for the car.

If it's starting, it cannot be the starter. Check the alternator.

Confirmed with Walmart that it's the correct battery. Everstart Maxx H6 13.

It was running fine, just a couple of hard starts - could it be alternator that it doesn't start now? Is it possibly a fuse? Found the box in glove compartment, but can't find a diagram for fuses.

If it doesnt start after you swapped batteries, I suspect the new one has a bad cell or is partially discharged.

Thank you! Charging it now

Got it started with charger. Should I exchange new battery, or will it charge when driving?

I say exchange it.
A new battery that does not work... that is simply wrong. After all, maybe it was discharged or maybe it is defective. If I am not mistaken, full discharge is not good for standard batteries (that is what deep cycle batteries are designed to do, but not regular car batteries).

The trunk tool kit can do the job, but you might bring a 13mm and 10mm socket (if I am not mistaken: battery terminals 10mm & hold-down 13mm?) to remove and replace the battery at the store. Assuming that you will not get stranded and the battery is the total cause of failure.
