That is a First Rate cage, is that a current project that's happening right now?

On the drivers side, do the bars extend (curve out) into the drivers door for greater protection?

Mrk1 06-03-2013 09:24 PM

thanks, that project had to go when I started my business. Was a 4.4L powered car.

the door bars do both bend out slightly but not much. The cage is a FIA style usually used in rally cars so windows remain operable.

Raven Roll Cage :

For show purposes : Bolts in and requires no welding, cutting, or alteration to the interior of the car.

Many will argue the functionality, increased rigidity, and potential safety implications. But I do not have rear passengers nor do I use the harnesses on the street. They (harnesses) are purely cosmetic and are set up only for shows/photoshoots.

The Raven Roll Cage looks like a great option for those of us that don't want a true bolt in or better, weld in.

Looks Good.

^ Nice work!

What organization and what class do you race in?

cagedruss 06-22-2013 03:44 PM

Thanks SK330ci, I really enjoy working on BMW more than pretty much any other car manufacturer.

Bought the cage from a friend who is local to me for 500. I think he had paid nearly double that to initially get it and have it shipped from canada. If you're willing to drive up north, you can probably get them for under 1k directly from Raven.

Autopower Roll Cage

Street Roll Bar #61904 E $489 plus figure about $150 to ship it.

With this set-up the rear seat is still 100% useable, I'd absolutely have a welder weld in the bar that goes across floor connecting the "Main Hoop".
The front bars coming forward are extra insurance, what I'd consider optionable.

Good luck.

if you ever decide that you no longer want the cage and are willing to let it go for around what you paid for it i will be more than happy to take it off your hands. i think there a little over priced new for a cage that probably wont even doing any thing in a crash.

I would like to get a roll bar in my car to have a fixed race seat, harness and add some weight to my car for TTE next year. These guys are local here in Arizona, they do good work. http://www.precisionchassisworks.com/

Just curious, why not do it right (Post #14) with cage material that not only looks good, but will Definitely hold up in a crash ?

As apposed too a cage that really has very little structural rigidity.

??

if i was able to have a cage welded in that allowed me to keep my carpet and rear seat delete, then im all for it.
