How much oil for a oil change.

Going to Do a oil change today. I want to know exactly how much oil to put? 5 and a half and check the levels? Or 5 and a quarter Bottle?

stolidog 07-25-2013 03:20 PM

5.5L and check the level. I find that mine will take the full 6 and be right at the top marker.

So add 5 and a half and check levels? Should be up to the top of dip stick?

Guys when I turn the key to the 3rd position it say service engine soon. What is that light? It is not there when I am driving only when I turn the key to the 3rd position!

DSilk56 07-26-2013 10:15 AM

It's an indication that a fault code has been tripped, usually with regard to the emissions control systems. It should ALWAYS turn on when the key is in the pre-crank position, as this shows that the light is functioning. If it comes on or stays on when the engine is running you will need to have your codes read.

Ballerbrian4u 07-26-2013 03:01 PM

So it normal for it to STAY on in the pre-crank position?

stolidog 07-26-2013 05:31 PM

Pretty sure that's normal, though I cant say for certain without checking my own car.

Ballerbrian4u 07-27-2013 12:34 AM

If you can check and get back to me please!!!! I would love you forever!!

stolidog 08-01-2013 12:49 PM

Finally got a chance to check this. Mine stays on.. so I'll go with "it's normal". Final answer.

Mine is on pre-ignition and immediately turns off upon starting.
