Covers create lots of little scratches because the wind makes it into a dirt scrubber. The particles between your paint and the cover scratch it just as if you tried cleaning you car with a dry rag.

It is the "Wavetrac Differential 30.309.176WK BMW 188k Axle r=<3.07"

Wavetrack only makes two models, one for the 3.07 and below, and one for the 3.15 and above.
