Which e46 has auto trans prone to failure?

On my 9th BMW now, 2001 325ci, 5spd, 225k miles.
It runs great, gets great mileage, but it is too small{coupe} and has 5spd. I am tired of shifting.
Lots of city driving.

I own 2001 325ci 5spd, 224 k miles and I get 34 mpg.
I am middle aged and tired of 5spd. But I the 2dr is LOW and hard to use space for business.

My actuators never worked, so I used my key to get in, and of course the lock circlip broke off and fell into door.
So when my used parts, actuator and lock came in...

So I replaced all intake boots, cked disa valve, new plugs, sprayed carb cleaner looking for leaks, took off maf and used crc maf cleaner, { that did help HP}, and still once...

Lean codes can also be caused by old, hard intake boots, that is where i would start first.
The disa valve, pull it and check seal.
