A new radiator is $132 shipped. That's pretty cheap, and it's not that hard to do. If you're replacing the expansion tank, you're 90% there.

Just a follow up, it turned out to be the rear shock mounts. I replaced both shock mounts and both strut mounts, the car handles like new again.

But BMW does NOT require you to rotate the rear piston.
