I just took out the valve and connected the lines, cost $0 and works great. Later that night I went out with my girlfriend and she immediately noticed that the 1st to 2nd shifts were a lot smoother.

Replaced my manual trans fluid with Redline D4 ATF @ 65k miles and didn't notice a difference. Old fluid was black, had metal pieces in it, and seemed thin.
