I fix whatever I can myself, but those things are expensive and I need several, so it's not worth it for me. Maybe if you have an alarm and you need it to arm it would be worth the cost.

I did mine in July after it stopped working. Around $100 for the part, and like everyone else is saying it is a simple procedure to swap it out in an hour or less.
