Alright, everything makes sense now. Everything was working fine until I removed the sensor, when putting back, I did NOT click it in which may have blew out the internal through the plastic housing....

also, when i dropped the tranny, dropped it as the whole assembly with the actuator. would that have to do with any of these?

Mine does the same. But at the same time, my clutch is about to go out anytime now. I can feel it barely catching. Will be doing my clutch sometime next week, I'll see if it'll go away. Will update :)

I'd do the belts too. As far as the fan, they won't be chipping unless they are grinding/hitting something. If the fan looks ok, leave it alone.

Not sure if this goes for the m3s, but the non-M e46s has common issues with the bad ground on the taillight carriers. Sometime causes headlight to flicker. Check the connectors if you haven't...
