Are you saying that you couldn't get to the two bolts out that fasten the glass to the regulator? If so, I always remove the motor and move slide the glass by hand up or down to line up the holes.

When you get that squealing noise from your blower motor it means that the bearings are shot. It pulls too many amps and will cause your FSR to go too. Mine squealed, so I lubed it. FSR went out....
