I agree also the Behr radiator made in South Africa lasted less than 1 year on my e39. I use OEM whenever possible but cooling system components stick with the OE made in Germany part.

seems like it would be obvious the way it fits into the pulley. It's called a mud guard so the point is to cover the bearing. Whichever way makes the best seal is what i wouold go with.
