Just finished new Vanos/plugs/OFH gasket - engine won't fire...

I've never heard that. Not even sure you make sure it is TDC...? I've done two of these and getting ready to do the third one.

DISA valve DIY attempting soon

Have an extra "F" connector on hand or it will break. I'd suggest changing upper and lower boots if they haven't been done and clean the ICV "while you're in there"!
Use the G.A.S. kit.
