I replaced the shocks/struts along with mounts about 6 months ago. I only assume its the swaybar end links because the noise got exponentially worse after I replaced them.

I would say that the "M3 style" bumpers only fit the lines of the regular e46 so it will be too narrow for an actual M3. My advice? Don't own an M3 if you can't afford the bumper...
