I do not know what failed. I could be any of a number of things. Troubleshooting will be too time consuming and part may be uncontainable, that is why I said to throw it away and buy a new one.

Sounds like the driver's lock actuator is in need of replacement. If you read the fault codes from the ZKE module it will probably have a fault code for it. You can find the PN for the replacement...

It doesn't sound the fuse because you say it lock and unlocks from the central locking button. That means fuses 49 and 60 are fine. Fuse 52 is for the front windows.
