well i never had issues with mine as i was installing my reverse camera.. but i will suggest you get done with the camera and fix all back and if that still dont work, you troubleshoot that alone..

I noticed an oil leakage under my 316 e46 2002 with N42 engine. I have been trying to figure out the source of the leakage. I need help badly. I made some pictures of the leakage and i hope it helps...

Have you tried locking and unlocking the doors from the driver side door? I had the same problem but mine worked when i got out of the car and locked all doors manually with the key and unlocked...
