Question Vanos: repair or replace

For those with a lot of 323 experience, I've got a bit of a dilemma.

The shop where I've been taking my car since I bought it is recommending vanos seal replacement. I'm sitting at 151,000 miles....

I was thinking of trying some double-sided mounting tape.

This morning I got 14 consecutive green lights on this one stretch of road I drive. It is a busy 5-lane through a metro area, around 9 miles or so. It was awesome.

May need to tighten up the bolts that hold on the hinges. Mine on the driver's side had worked loose a bit and they creaked. After tightening...no creaking.
