Costco seems to have H7 batteries for ~$100.

Don't want the alternator to strain too much with a failing battery in the cold weather.

I replaced mine in Fall of 2010 with a Hella unit from Pelican parts, cost me $107, looks like they've come down in price to ~$70.

4 years later, still working!

You'll want to check voltage coming out of the alternator, see if its around 13.7v or so, that'll indicate a working alternator, which should charging your new battery then.
