Probably just a broken "F" connector. The vacuum line is probably down in the engine bay somewhere and not totally gone.

Infamous 5th gear flop. As kbsilver mentions, the detent spring/bushing in the tranny fails. I too had better luck with the issue, after switching to Redline D4 ATF.

The thread on the winter tire is very squishy compared to a summer tire. Also having two different types of tire doesnt help the situation either.
